It was airy, beautiful and with tatami mats. The particularly good location walk from the train station was just what I needed.
The staff were busy, didn't expect that coming.

Amazing design, charming ambiance, friendly and hospitable staff with great English. The bar downstairs is a nice touch, where you can chat and have a welcome drink with locals and other travelers. Cool and artistic hosts who make you feel at home, like staying with friends. Comfy double room, spotlessly clean.

I had a fantastic stay at Roku Hostel. The small cozy atmosphere created a cute and friendly environment. The staff were great too make me feel comfortable and provided excellent service. The free welcome drink after a long day of sightseeing was a lovely touch. The location, while not in the center of town, was conveniently close to the train station and made it easy to access the main sites in Hiroshima, as well as the ferry to Miyajima island. The rooms, although small, had plenty of storage space and the bunk beds were comfortable. The shower rooms and sink area were clean and spacious. I would highly recommend Roku Hostel to anyone visiting Hiroshima.
